Somatic Practice ~

movement that builds an internal focus and attention to one's self

Experience

Jordan Pratko completed her 200-hour Registered Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training through Om Factory NYC, under the instruction of Blair Ritchie and Taryn Vanderhoop. Dancing since the age of three, Jordan finds absolute bliss in the study and teaching of movement and the emotion it evokes. Jordan began her practice in 2018 when she decided it was time to enhance her body, mind and soul through not only the poses, but also breath and meditation. Yoga has provided Jordan with a sense of calmness and ease in her inner mind that she has always struggled with finding. Jordan’s mission is to help others find stability in their own lives and peace within themselves that, at times, can seem so unattainable. Jordan has experience teaching yoga to diverse populations both in private studios and K-12 classrooms.

Philosophy

In my pedagogical, yoga philosophy, I aspire to help my learners see who they really are and embrace it. Through a yoga curriculum that focuses on breath, alignment, posture and meditation, including variations and modifications for a variety of abilities, my students are encouraged to direct their awareness from the outer world to the inner self. Students will continue to develop their social-emotional learning competencies through the purposeful attention to mindfulness, self-awareness, and self-management by participating in the pillars of yoga.
