4a. Reflecting on Teaching
Self- Reflection...
In this personal statement, I reflect upon how I was able to establish myself in the role of teacher by using specific pedagogical techniques that helped build rapport with my students, making them feel supported as individuals.
4c. Communicating with Families
Below are some examples of communication home. To the left is a sample letter of an introduction to the CARE after-school program and to the right is an example of a newsletter I sent home to acknowledge the children's creative explorations and accomplishments.
4d. Participating in a Professional Community
During my student teaching internship, I choreographed for the spring and winter dance concerts. Additionally, I attended after-school rehearsals, helped with ticket sales, and stage managed performances.
4e. Growing and Developing Professionally
In October 2019, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) conference in Miami, FL. After attending all of the workshops where I learned, shared, and connected with unique dance educators, I was fully able to recognize what I stand for, what is important to me as a dance educator.
